Dear Diary, Early 1980’s.
Over the last few years I joined a couple of small bands and I believe I tried almost every genre in music possible! Eventually I ended up doing gigs with a jazz band in Antwerp for drinks. But let me tell you: I had a wonderful time doing that. I did my first ever studio session with them. How was I to know this was the future?

Dear Diary, 1988.
I went to a club in town called "Prestige". It was hot for awhile. On that particular night however, bands were playing. It wasn’t rock, it wasn’t funk or disco either. I was there with some friends and the place was full. I saw a girl pass around flyers and at that same moment I saw a face in the crowd signaling to that girl to give me one. She pretended she didn’t see me(I sort of knew her. Thanks a lot Mich.). I saw the guy gesture wildly at her so I helped and snatched a flyer off her. It was a call for an audition. Apparently he was looking for "sexy girls, willing to perform in lingerie. Being able to sing was optional!
I thought it was a pretty degrading piece of paper, but nevertheless I was intrigued by it all. The audition was the next day and I decided to go after work. Fully clothed, mind you! In fact, I couldn’t have worn anything more covering! I was late, but he was still there together with another guy, who later turned out to be Chris Inger. I could see the surprise on their faces when I showed up. Later they said the audition was still on because they hoped I’d show up! Needless to say I was way nervous, but before I finished, the man (Maurice) shoved a contract under my nose. The ball was rolling.
I was just in time to join their band "Shakti" and finish the album "Demonic Forces".
I had to choose an Artist name and after contemplating for a long time with my best friend Marie — we came up with "
Jade 4U". My first released song was Rainbows.
