These are busy times as we are now working hard in the Brussels based Jet studio to complete the final mixing of my album. This week we recorded live strings for three of the songs. The quartet was practicing to "Immortal" as I walked in. I immediately ran to the ladies room to do me some crying... you know... hearing beautiful sounds can do that for me :). I was... overwhelmed when those strings shot at my heart and reminded me of the exact moment in time when I first saw the lyrics on paper. Danny gave them to me not long after my second miscarriage... when I was so low that nothing inspired me.
He had made it so easy for me to just add a simple chorus to it, which  - I now see - is an answer to what he wrote. 
Let me show you the words :

Well, soon it's all done! Just two days ago I was preparing some snacks in the kitchen when all of a sudden I heard "Sugarcane" on the radio! Yeeeehaaaa!!! 
I was taken aback, because the single isn't even out yet and it was no final mix. So how come? Our record company man gave a demo of the song to the radio people about three months ago, for them to have a listen. And now they started playing it!! Of course I know the feeling but this is different. It's something I did by myself (with help from my sweetheart at the buttons), if you know what I mean...
 So exiting!
I want to tell you a little bit about this mysterious record company guy I keep referring to... He used to be an artist himself. He was part of the Morton, Sherman and Belucci trio back in the New Beat days... his name is Jo Casters.
In fact, I did my first ever recording with them. "The Erotic Dissidents" were pretty big back then. He also had a project called "Poesie Noire" . He toured a lot. Needless to say he is no stranger to the music scene and I'm happy to have run in to him again after years of each doing our own stuff and not hearing from each other! He immediately loved my stuff and he works sooo hard to make sure this cd is going to be heard by many music lovers all over... He's great! 
So, it's official : I have signed with Roadrunner! 
The songs will be released all over Europe and that's great news.  I really hope the US picks up on the cd soon. And Japan (I would love to tour there again)!
Beginning of April we're going to make a video clip. Danny and I just finished writing the script (now there's a new thing!) and the result should be hilarious!
Well, as you can see things are looking good.
 Spring is coming, the birds are singing, cats and dogs are horny and flowers have started to bloom. Soon the trees will have green leaves all over them, but before they do I'll be telling my Mr. Darling about this scent in the air that only I seem to be able to smell. It's a fragrance that makes my head spin and lifts my spirits up and makes me utter deep sighs of contentment. I remember the smell from Indonesia actually - I can never remember the name of the flower that shares her perfume like that. And anyway, those flowers don't live in Belgium  ;).  I don't know what it is that tickles my nostrils so, but I do know what it means : it's a promise of laughter in the sunshine and warm summer nights... either that or I should start bottling my farts . LOL!!!!!!

There's more stuff I'd like to tell you about. Like how I stopped (chain) smoking and about Reiki (and how it has changed my life forever).

I gotta go write some lyrics now, cos inspiration is sitting next to me and I never ignore her...:)
