| Dear Diary, |
November 2002
|
Writing a Diary entry is much like writing lyrics for a song ; you
start with an empty page - or, in this case, screen. Once you get started
it usually goes somewhere, so here we go :
Danny and I are doing the final touches on the songs for the next Darling
Nikkie cd.
A few days ago we had a guitarist play on a couple of tracks and we're now
in the process of picking and puzzling his parts together. One thing is for
sure : I'm real happy with them! The musician is super talented and always
feels what I want. His name is Pallieter and he's hot stuff, ladies! So far
he played on three tracks, one of them being "Love or Leave me" ; one of
the teasers Danny put up a while ago. If you think it sounded great then,
you'll find it sounds delicious now. You'll just have to wait and see...
.
We now have 10 songs and I can't tell you how happy I am with them! Every
day I am more and more pleased with the direction I decided to take. I understand
that some of my old skool Lords of Acid fans don't agree, but you can't please
everybody. I also know that some of them have grown with me and appreciate
my stuff - thanks!
Something I need to get off my chest is this Deb versus Darling Nikkie thing.
It's been going on long enough now. Deb has been the Lords vocalist/face
for the last years now and like I already said in my Guestbook earlier
on : she is doing her thing as she sees it. She's not trying to copy me and
I'd be pissed off if she did, so we must give her some credit. Some people
like what she does and others don't. Same as for me : some people are totally
turned off by what I do now and others love it! I had fun writing and
singing with the Lords for a looooong time (it was my baby as well as Praga's
from the very beginning). Everybody keeps wondering about reasons why I left
and about what happened between Praga and me, but whatever the reasons ;
Deb had nothing to do with them... . Don't get me wrong ; I have to admit
that for awhile my ego got a nice boost from some of your reactions, but
it really isn't fair... .
Some good news you might want to know about is that Danny's thinking of putting
together a Jade 4U mini cd, just for you fans...I think that's a great idea,
we're just working out all the practical stuff. We'll see. There would be
about 4 or 5 tracks plus the To The Limit remixes we picked. That sounds
yummie, doesn't it?
Don't be shy to shout out : Yo Danny!!! We want it (pretty pleeeeeease)!!!???
By the way : this week was his birthday. He's not big on celebrating or presents,
but I celebrate his birthday every day!!! If not for that day, I never would
have known him and this website would not have existed! So yay Danny xoxoxoxo!!!!!
Also, on the 2nd of this month we were married exactly 5 years - time flies
so fast!!!
It seems like only yesterday that I threw my weddingbouquet into the crowd
after a Lords gig in the US. I remember a big guy caught it. The whole thing
had been practically torn to shreds, but boy was he a happy puppy!!
Not as happy as me, I'll bet... .
Well, that about sums it up I guess...keep the good vibes coming - they're
so important in a sensitive artist's life :) lol!
Oh yeah ; here's a couple of pictures of Danny and me at a friend's
party - doing that "uppertone" singing. It was great fun, this gathering
of a whole bunch of totally cool people - making our own noise! Beating on
drums, rattling sticks, shaking tambourines and all sorts of bells, dancing
and singing...wow! Not once did anyone ask to put a cd on with "proper" dance
music.
Though we were outside in the freezing cold we worked up a nice sweat!
A lovely night it was... .
Okay daaaaarlings, that's it for now. I love you!
Peace out!
Biggie Kissie,
Nikkie
