Dear Diary,
February 2003

It's 7 in the morning and I've been awake since 5.30 am. By 6 I was bored so I got up, thinking "hey, it's been a long while since I last wrote something in my Diary"... .
Every time I want to write a Diary entry I stare at my blank screen, not knowing what to say, but then something always pops up. Lucky me!

10 Songs are finished now and Danny has started to send out demo's to record labels and managers. I love this cd so much... . I might add one or two more, but I'm not sure. And one of the songs might get a spanish translation...we'll see! That would be sweet, though.
Another thing is that I'm using my proper name for my cd : Cornelia. I decided it's a beautiful name and I should be proud of it. No more hiding it.

You know, I talk to some people from the music scene and they're all complaining about how bad things are right now with everyone just copying music, leaving the artist in the cold. And of course this war that's hanging over our heads won't make people run to the store and buy a couple of (expensive!) cd's either... .

I try not to let them get me down - I have to believe in what I do!
Some even tell me I should make things that are "easy to sell" and keep my beautiful music for me & friends to listen to!
How's that for boosting one's creativity, huh?
Sometimes - I have to admit - I get a little carried away and think that maybe they're right...but when I listen to my new stuff I just know that right now this is it ; this is what I want to do, no matter what anyone says.
If I can't believe in me I might as well just give up. I know I'm in a vulnerable place, but my vulnerability makes me strong!
Hey! I think there might be a song in here somewhere!!

Last week I did some vocals for a dance producer and it was great fun. Apparently it was played at a club over the weekend and the place was booming!
Danny and I wrote the lyrics together and they're so funny!! If all goes well it'll be out soon. I'm sure some of you will know before me, right Benoit? lol

That's what I'm saying, see? I need to have fun making songs rather than being dragged down and be driven by money only  .

Later today I'm going to see a friend in Antwerp. He's a brilliant saxophone player and together with his friend on piano we'll be jamming. I'm looking forward to that!
And on full moon nights a bunch of us just like to sit by a fire and drum and yell and sing the night away... .

Oh yeah - I saw Oliver (Adams) this week ; that was sooo nice. I hadn't seen him for over 3 years so that was great! Ven was there too, taking pictures...

Well...that's it for now folks.
Biggie kissie,
Nikkie
