Dear Diary,

1991. |
We met a new guy wed start working with: Oliver Adams. Nice and talented kid. Cute too! Together we became MNO (Maurice Nikkie Oliver). We put on these carnival wigs and started to perform in Holland. Our first gig was in Amsterdam and Ill never forget it.We were going to perform by the harbor in one of those huge halls. This was the very beginning of the rave scene. We looked at the stage when we got there and saw that it could collapse any moment now! Lets not forget that performances on these raves were not an every day thing yet, so the accommodations were real poor, to say the least! So we practically rebuilt the whole stage and that night we turned the house upside down! As MNO we were quite famous over there (Phantasia, God of Abraham, Flesh and Blood etcetera
). After the show we wanted our money and Maurice sent me to the organizer. I saw him leaning against a wall somewhere, stoned out of his mind (Holland, remember?). He told me he didnt remember how much he said hed pay us. Then I thought we could kiss the money goodbye. I reminded him of the amount (it wasnt so much at the time J
). Well, he paid us double! He was so pleased that we worked with him a lot more since.

Winter of 1992. |
Praga, Oliver and I made a new song called "Running out of Time". Project: Digital Orgasm.

I came up with the chorus, sang it a couple of times and this strange feeling came over me. There was something special about this tune
it felt so right. Together with the music I heard big stuff. Not so long after that we were number 16 in the UK! Wow, this had never happened to us before. I remember very well how excited I was. But Id had that gut feeling when we finished the track in the first place. Am I psychic? Haha. We went to Marocco for a photo shoot. It didnt feel too safe for me going around there dressing like that. We actually had to run away a couple of times.
We went on a TV program called "The Word" and performed the song. Mr. T. was there too
he had on so much gold I thought he was going to fall over or something. Not long after that we went on Top Of the Pops! They had a BIG problem with our band name and so DO was born. How strange.
